===============================

Former Keller softball assistant and player Jessica Pauls was hired to be the next head coach at Weatherford High School, taking over for Jeff Lemons who retired from coaching after the 2025 season.

Weatherford is coming off a playoff miss this spring, but was one game out of a postseason berth.

Pauls said on Facebook, “I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead the Lady Roos and excited to build a culture rooted in hard work, growth and pride. Can’t wait to hit the ground running – let’s go Roos.”

Pauls spent the past five seasons with her alma mater Keller Indians under head coaches Christina Gwyn and Chad Cribbs. The Indians went to the regional finals in 2023 and 2024, and won four straight district titles. Keller went 28-9-1 overall and 14-2 in district this spring, but lost to Flower Mound Marcus in the Class 6A Division 2 regional semifinals. During her five years with Keller, the Indians produced a 132-53-3 overall record and 60-6 in district (51-3 the past four seasons).

This is Pauls first head coaching job. She also was an assistant at Nolan Catholic in Fort Worth. Pauls played at Keller and graduated in 2011 before playing in college at the University of Science & Arts in Oklahoma.
