Aledo tight end Tyson Timms commits to Colorado School Of Mines

Two weeks after helping the Aledo Bearcats to another state championship, senior tight end Tyson Timms announced his commitment to the Colorado School of Mines on New Year’s Day.

Timms is listed at 6-2 and 215 pounds.

The first-team all-district selection helped Aledo to a 16-0 record capped by a dominating 51-8 win over Smithson Valley in the Class 5A Division 1 state title game on Dec. 15. It was Aledo’s 12th state title – extending the program’s UIL record.

Timms posted career highs in receptions (29), yards (377) and yards per game. He scored three touchdowns and averaged 13 yards per catch. During the past two seasons, Timms recorded 54 catches in 31 games played with 709 yards and six touchdowns.

He also helped block for two 1000-yard rushers, nearly three (Ray Guillory, Hauss Hejny, Hawk Patrick-Daniels). Aledo, as a team, rushed for 4,400 yards and 74 touchdowns while averaging seven yards per carry and 275 yards per game.
