For the sixth straight year, you can watch Texas high school football live on WFAA.
The ABC affiliate released its 2023 football schedule on Friday, which includes five state champions from last season. The WFAA Friday Night Football broadcast will officially start Aug. 25.
You can watch the games across all of WFAA’s digital platforms, WFAA.com, its YouTube channel, its mobile app and the station’s streaming app. 11 schools that have never been on broadcast before with WFAA will be this season.
The season kicks off with Argyle and Melissa and wraps up in Week 11 of the regular season with Prosper and McKinney. State champs include South Oak Cliff, Gunter, Aledo, Duncanville and DeSoto.

Sept. 1: Lancaster vs SOC
Sept. 8: Stephenville vs Decatur
Sept. 15: Anna vs Celina
Sept. 22: Euless Trinity vs North Crowley
Sept. 29: Highland Park vs Dallas Jesuit
Oct. 6: Bells vs Gunter
Oct. 13: Burleson Centennial vs Aledo
Oct. 20: Everman vs Mansfield Summit
Oct. 27: Duncanville vs DeSoto
Nov. 2: Prosper vs McKinney
Class 5A D2 No. 1 Melissa will host No. 3 Argyle and open up its new $35 million Kenny Deel Stadium. Argyle reached the regional final last year where it lost to SOC. The game of the year will be Oct. 27 when 6A D1 champ Duncanville plays 6A D2 champ DeSoto in District 11-6A action.
WFAA sports anchor Mike Leslie and Hek’ma Harrison will once again comprise the Friday Night Football broadcast team. Harrison played linebacker at Lincoln High School, before playing college football at both Kansas State and UNT.
