32 teams ranging from DFW to Amarillo to Waco will participate in the Mansfield ISD Methodist Medical Center Invitational, which begins Thursday and runs through Saturday.
Midlothian defeated Colleyville Heritage for the title last year.
Heritage went on to win the Class 5A state championship in November.
Games will be held at Lake Ridge, Legacy, Mansfield, Summit and Timberview High Schools. Heritage and Midlothian return to the field along with 3A state runner-up Bushland. Other notable DFW teams include playoff teams Coppell, Frisco Memorial, Arlington, Midlothian Heritage, Mansfield, Lake Ridge, Timberview, South Grand Prairie and Waxahachie, which won 40 games and reached the regional tournament for the first time in program history last season.
Tickets are $10 and kids 5 and under are free.
