Lake Ridge sweeps Weatherford

After coming back to beat Weatherford in extras on Tuesday, Tony Green led Mansfield Lake Ridge to a 5-0 win over the Kangaroos on Friday in District 3-6A.

Green went 5 innings and didn’t allow a hit while strikeout out 5.

August Lahue Jr. pitched 2 innings of relief and gave up 1 hit with 3 strikeouts.

Dom Harper and Jeremiah Thomas combined for 3 doubles and 4 RBIs for the Eagles.

#1 Keller dominates Timber Creek

Cole Koeninger tossed 6 scoreless innings and struck out 10 to lead Keller past Timber Creek 7-0 on Friday night in District 4-6A. The Indians would complete the sweep on Saturday.

Koeninger allowed 2 hits while Cameron Ireland pitched a clean seventh inning.

Logan Brown and Jayden Moeller had 2 RBIs apiece for the Indians, who scored all 7 runs in 5 straight innings following a scoreless opening frame.

Kennedale rallies back to beat Godley

Tanyan Miller broke open a 4-4 tie with an RBI triple in the bottom of the fifth and then had the walk-off single in the eighth as Kennedale beat Godley in a District 12-4A showdown on Friday night.

Miller came in to score on a single from Nathan Arber in the fifth that gave Kennedale a 6-4 advantage. Rami Mahmoud capped the big inning with an RBI triple to center that scored Colton Sandoval, who also homered earlier in the game.

Godley scored 4 times a half inning later in the top of the sixth that tied the game at 8-8.

LSU commit leads Grapevine past Birdville

Luke Esquivel threw a 4-hitter and struck out 13 as 5A’s #1 team Grapevine shut out Birdville 7-0 in a District 6-5A game on Friday night.

Esquivel is an LSU commit as the Mustangs moved to a 25-3 record.

Flower Mound wins late in Mound Showdown

Jackson Sartor and Connor Skinner produced back-to-back run scoring doubles in the bottom of the sixth inning to lead Flower Mound over rival FM Marcus in District 5-6A on Friday night.

The Jaguars sweep the Mound Showdown after winning 2-1 on Tuesday.

Both runs in the sixth came on 2 outs.

The lead runner in the top of the seventh reached for Marcus before Flower Mound relief pitcher Logan Richards shut down the side for the win.

Richards didn’t allow a hit in 2 1/3 innings of work.
