Grandview junior pitcher Madi Doty, who is committed to the University of Texas, was named to the Max Preps Top 20 players in the country among the 2026 class.
Doty was ranked #5 overall and is the only player ranked from the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Four others from Texas were named to the list.
During the season, Doty had a 25-2 record along with a 0.62 ER and 314 strikeouts. She hit 0.581 with 16 home runs (ranking in the Top 10 among DFW) and 71 RBIs.
The Zebras reached the state tournament for the second year in a row and third overall since 2018. They played in the title game for the first time in program history. After beating Hallettsville 11-2 in the semifinals, Grandview lost to Coahoma 3-2 in eight innings.
Doty hit a home run in the title game and threw a complete game with six hits and one earned run allowed. She finished with five strikeouts.

The UIL regular season begins on Feb. 10.
