Alvarado star quarterback, who’s leading team to 10-0 start, commits to Tarleton State

Cardea Collier, one of the most explosive quarterbacks not only in the DFW area, but in the entire state, has committed to Tarleton State.

Collier and Alvarado are 10-0 overall and 5-0 in district.

It’s the program’s first undefeated district championship since the 2019 season and first perfect regular season finish since 2011 when the Indians went 14-1 before losing to Tyler Chapel Hill 20-19 in the state semifinals.

The Indians are coming off a 42-7 win over Kennedale to capture the perfect district championship. Collier went 10 of 16 for 195 yards and one touchdown through the air and added 171 yards rushing and three more TDs.

Through 10 games, Collier is lighting up the stat sheet.

The senior QB as thrown for 2700+ yards with 33 touchdowns against only five interceptions. The dual threat powerhouse has added 1100+ yards rushing and 25 touchdowns – bringing his total to over 3800 yards overall and an incredible 58 TDs.

His biggest game came against Glen Rose in Week 5.

Against 4A power Glen Rose, Alvarado won 71-50 and Collier went completely off while putting up video game numbers – finishing with 287 passing, 2 TDs, 325 rushing and 8 TDs. His performance was so good that Collier was named Built Ford Tough Class 4A Player of the Week in the entire state.

Alvarado opens the playoffs against FW Eastern Hills.
