Former Aledo tight end transfers to Texas Tech

After two seasons with the Oklahoma Sooners, Aledo state champ Jason Llewellyn is transferring to Texas Tech. He enrolled at OU in the winter of 2022 and appeared in 13 games during two seasons, including 10 games as a freshman, primarily on special teams.

Coming out of Aledo HS, Llewellyn was a 4-star tight end and ranked #12 in the country by Rivals. He caught 30 passes for 452 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior. Aledo went 12-1 that year before losing in the regional semifinals.

A year before that, as a junior, the Bearcats went 13-1 and won the Class 5A D2 title – a 56-21 victory over Crosby at AT&T Stadium. In the game, Llewellyn had two catches for 24 yards and helped block for the run game, which ended with 381 yards on the ground.
