The Fort Worth South Hills Scorpions are in the news on Monday after what Tylan Wallace did on Sunday for the Ravens. Wallace, who graduated from South Hills in 2017, won the game on his 75-yard punt return for a touchdown in overtime as the Ravens beat the LA Rams 37-31.
The Ravens are 10-3 – leaders in the AFC North and have the best record in the AFC, tied for the best record in the NFL.
Wallace was a 4-star recruit out of South Hills.
According to 247Sports, he was the #17 WR in the country and #20 overall player in the state of Texas. He was also in the Top 125 nationally. He was district offensive MVP as a junior in 2015 after 1,500 yards and 20 touchdowns. Wallace was selected as an Under Armour All-American as a senior in 2016.
He went on to play for Oklahoma State. As a sophomore in 2018, Wallace made 86 catches for 1,491 yards and 12 touchdowns. In his final three seasons, he had 198 receptions, 3,300 yards and 26 touchdowns – becoming one of the best WRs in the country.
Wallace is in his third season with Baltimore after being drafted in the fourth round in the 2021 NFL draft (131st pick).
