Former Mansfield Lake Ridge football star transfers to Cal

After a successful season with the University of North Texas, quarterback Chandler Rogers is headed to the University of Cal, he announced on Monday.

In his only season with the Mean Green, Rogers was among the top quarterbacks in the country. He threw for 3,382 yards and 29 touchdowns – finishing in the Top 10 nationally in passing touchdowns and Top 20 in passing yards.

Prior to coming to Denton, Rogers played at the University of Louisiana-Monroe where during the 2022 season, he threw for 2,403 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Each of the past two years, he completed over 62% of his passes with 67.7% coming with ULM. He came out of Mansfield Lake Ridge HS signed with Southern Miss and then spent two years with Blinn College.

As a senior at Lake Ridge, Rogers accounted for 3,394 yards and 34 touchdowns as the Eagles went to the third round of the playoffs. He was also the team’s leading rusher. He finished his HS career with over 6,000 yards and 65 TDs.
