The Wolves reached where few have reached before – 90 points.
Timberview held Sunset to negative yardage on its way to a massive 90-0 win in District 5-5A D1 action on Thursday night in Mansfield. The Wolves, #3 in the 5A D1 state rankings, moved to 8-0 overall and 6-0 in district.
They set up the district championship next week Friday vs Richland, which is also 8-0 and 6-0.
Richland beat Birdville 42-18 on Friday.
Timberview gained 477 yards of total offense while Sunset had -22. The Bisons were 6 of 16 passing for 28 yards and -50 yards rushing on 27 carries.
The Wolves scored 28 in the first quarter and 35 in the second for a 63-0 lead at halftime.
Then they added 20 more points in the third quarter and 7 in the fourth. The defense also forced five turnovers with one fumble recovered and four interceptions.
Offensively, Timberview QB Zuric Humes went 7 of 12 passing for 196 yards and three touchdowns. He averaged nearly 30 yards per completion. Jaylon Woods led the rushing attack with 119 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Taylor Hanson added 75 yards and a score and Cam Bates scored on a 29-yard run. Humes and Dilan Battle also scored on TD runs.
Bates only had two touches as he also scored on a 36-yard pass and catch from Humes.
Tyler Madison led the receiving core with three catches for 115 yards and two touchdowns.
Timberview is out-scoring teams 418-66 this season. The Wolves go into Week 10’s matchup with Richland averaging 52 points and allowing under 9 a game. They beat Richland last year 59-24.
