Former Keller Central softball star announces transfer to Tarleton State

Tarleton State, which is known for getting top local softball talent here in DFW, got one on Friday through the transfer portal in Keller Central grad Brianna McFaddin.

“Officially a Texan,” McFaddin said in Twitter post.

McFaddin spent her freshman season at Nicholls State in Thibodaux, Louisiana, just an hour west of New Orleans. Nicholls State went 29-24 this spring including 13-11 in conference play. They were eliminated after going 2-2 in the Southland Conference Tournament (5-4 loss vs Lamar).

McFaddin saw action in 42 games and started in 12 games.

She saw 31 at bats and finished hitting 0.290 with 9 hits, 2 RBI and 19 runs scored. She was second on the team with 20 stolen bases. McFaddin had five putouts in the outfield.

During her time at Central, she is among the best players in program history.

McFaddin was named team MVP as a senior in 2022. She finished with a 0.509 batting average and broke the single season record with 37 stolen bases. She was first team all district in 4-6A and named to the DFW Fast Pitch All Metroplex All Star game.
