Keller promotes assistant Chad Cribbs to head softball coach

Keller ISD promoted softball assistant Chad Cribbs to head coach for the Keller Indians on Thursday. He replaces Christina Gwyn, who was announced as the UNT pitching coach on Monday.

Cribbs was on staff this past season and helped coach the Indians to an undefeated district championship in 4-6A, a 35-11 record and a trip to the 6A Region 1 final against Denton Guyer.

Cribbs played baseball and basketball and is originally from Hurst.

Gwyn, who graduated from Keller in 2003, coached the Indians for the past six seasons, guiding them to district titles the past two seasons, three trips to the regional final and a state tournament appearance in 2019.

Under Gwyn’s watch, Keller posted a 155-46-2 record.

Cribbs will inherit a squad that returns all area and 4-6A catcher of the year Kaiya Fabela, Tarleton state pitcher commit Sadie Beck and all district honorees Carley Genzer, Mackenna Jackson (newcomer of the year) and Sydona Meiser.
