The Texas Longhorns landed their eighth football commit for the 2024 class and fourth from the Lone Star state.
Richland 3-star offensive guard Daniel Cruz announced his commitment to the Horns on Wednesday. He joins other Texans Freddie Dubose (Smithson Valley), Nate Kibble (Atascocita) and Trey Owens (Cy Fair).
Cruz, who is listed at 6-foot-4 and 295 pounds, is ranked as the No. 21 inside lineman in the country and No. 64 in Texas for the 2024 class according to 247Sports.
He has 29 offers with 20 from a Power Five School.
Some other offers include TCU, USC, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, SMU, UNT, Michigan, LSU, Florida, Colorado, Baylor, Ohio State, A&M and Alabama.
Cruz officially made a visit to Austin on June 23.
He was named to district first team in back to back years.
