Family announces death of former Bishop Dunne, Timberview high school football star

Jaden Hullaby, who played at Dallas Bishop Dunne and Mansfield Timberview, died Monday morning, according to family members. Family announced he was missing on Sunday in the DFW area and hadn’t heard from him since Thursday.

Then family posted on Monday morning that Hullaby had passed away.

His cause of death was determined.

“Forever living through you big brudda,” his brother Landon Hullaby tweeted. “I love you so much and I got you and the family forever I swear. Get your rest King”

Hullaby, 6-3/230, was a three-star player in high school. He was ranked No. 40 among all athletes in the country for the 2020 class, according to the 247Sports composite.

Hullaby signed his letter of intent with the Texas Longhorns in December 2019.

“It’s such devastating and tragic news to hear of Jaden’s passing,” Texas coach Steve Sarkisian said in a statement on Twitter. “He was a great person and someone we all enjoyed being around, coaching and spending time with. All of our thoughts are with his family, friends and teammates, and we want to send our deepest condolences to them in such a difficult time.”

After spending her first two years playing defensive back at UT, Hullaby transferred to New Mexico where he played tight end. Hullaby played in two games as a freshman in 2020 for the Longhorns before earning a redshirt season. He didn’t play in 2021.

During his time at Timberview, Hullaby was named all-state during the 2019 season. The Wolves went 6-5 with a playoff appearance. Hullaby also played quarterback and accounted for over 20 touchdowns.

Timberview averaged over 40 points per game that season.

Hullaby helped Bishop Dunne to a TAPPS state football championship as a junior in 2018. He rushed for 1,200 yards and 11 touchdowns and made 40 catches for 400 yards and five touchdowns. He was named to the all-state team.
