Keller ousts Odessa Permian in shootout
Tied after regulation and the overtime period, the Indians knocked off the Panthers 4-2 in a shootout during their Class 6A D1 area round match on Monday.
Keller (18-4-1) will play Plano East or Arlington Martin later this week in the regional semifinals.
The Indians advance to the third round for the second straight season.
Midlothian Heritage shuts out Dallas Hillcrest
The Jaguars scored two goals in each half during their shutout win over the Panthers in their Class 5A D2 area round match on Monday night in Dallas.
Heritage (21-2-1) will face Lovejoy or Frisco Lone Star later this week in the regional semifinal round. The Jags, who have won nine straight, advance to the third round for the second season in a row.
Taylor Maguire scored her 32nd goal of the season. Makenna McNitt led all players with two goals and Makayla Garcia added one.
Maguire also had a team-high two assists to hit 25 on the year.
Aubrey routes Duncanville Village Tech
The Chaparrals used five goals in the first half to roll by the Viper Squid 8-0 during their Class 4A D2 area round match on Monday night.
Aubrey (17-5-1) will play Brownsboro or Henderson in the regional semifinals. The defense hasn’t allowed a goal in five straight matches – also beating Caddo Mills 3-0 in bi-district.
Last season, Aubrey played in the state semifinals for the first time in program history.
