Flower Mound 3, FM Marcus 2
The Jaguars scored a pair of runs on a two-run error by the Marauders in the top of the ninth inning to pick up their fourth-straight win in District 5-6A on Tuesday night. Audra Kruk got the win – going the distance with six hits and one earned run allowed. Kruk also struck out nine batters. Bella Valdez took the hard luck loss – also going nine innings with nearly identical stats to Kruk (six hits, one earned, eight strikeouts). Flower Mound led in the top of the seventh inning before Marcus sent it to extras following an RBI single from Makenna Barr. Emily Souders hit a one-out double in the bottom of the ninth for Marcus and scored on a passed ball to cut it to 3-2. With game-winning run at the plate for the Marauders, Kruk got her ninth and final strikeout.
Rockwall-Heath 8, Rockwall 6
The Hawks scored six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning on their way to another District 10-6A victory over their cross town rivals on Wednesday night. Heath stayed undefeated in district play after picking up their first win in the series since Feb. 23, 2021 – snapping a 10-game losing streak vs the Yellowjackets. Rockwall scored four runs in the third inning on a pair of two-run home runs by Addi Edgington and Leah Larsen. Imani Thornton capped off Heath’s big fourth inning with a two-run inside the park home run while Anna-Kate Synesael hit a three-run double. Jada Williams added an RBI triple in the fifth and Makenna Burleson got the win with two hits and one run allowed in 4 2/3 innings.
Whitesboro 10, Paradise 9
After the first three batters reached in the bottom of the seventh, Reagan Downs drove a 1-2 pitch to right field for the walk-off two-run single to send the Bearcats by the Panthers in District 10-3A on Tuesday night. Avery Howerton, who leads DFW in home runs this season, was walked five times while Downs finished with three runs batted in. Cameron Ortiz finished the game with three hits in four appearances – one double and one triple – and one run across. Howerton got the win with three earned runs allowed and seven strikeouts.
