David Blough, who graduated from Carrollton Creekview HS in 2014, was promoted to offensive coordinator by the Washington Commanders, the team announced on Saturday.
Blough spent the past two seasons as Washington’s assistant quarterbacks coach.
He replaces Kliff Kingsbury, who mutually agreed to part ways with the Commanders on Tuesday.
Blough became QBs coach late in the season after Tavita Pritchard was hired at Stanford. Blough played in the NFL for five seasons, appearing in nine games with seven starts. Blough played four years at Purdue before going undrafted in 2019.
He spent time with Detroit, Cleveland, Minnesota and Arizona.
His final season came in 2023 with the Lions.
While at Creekview, Blough was rated as high as the 7th best pocket passer for the Class of 2014 by ESPN. As a junior, he passed for 1,777 yards and 17 touchdowns and added 6 touchdowns on the ground. He appeared in 43 games and started 36 times for Purdue.
As a college senior, he threw for a career-high 3,521 yards and tied a career best with 25 touchdowns as the Boilermakers went 6-5.
The Commanders went 5-12 this season and missed the playoffs. The offense averaged 20.9 points per game.
