The #2 team in the nation is coming off a 2-1 win over #1 Vanderbilt on Saturday Nov. 29. It’s the first time TCU is playing in the NCAA College Cup.

The win over Vandy came at Vandy’s home turf and in overtime.

TCU improved to 18-2-3 overall.

Southlake Carroll’s Olivia Geller had a career game and the sophomore made a highlight save in the first half as the two teams were scoreless during the intermission.

The Horned Frogs applied the pressure in the second half, but Vandy was able to grab a 1-0 lead in the 77th minute. TCU got a free kick with five minutes to play with Flower Mound’s Sydney Becerra taking it. Vandy saved it but off the deflection, Prosper’s Emma Yolinsky netted the game-tying goal.

Seven Castain beat her defender in the box and found Wylie’s Morgan Brown, who attempted to score the golden goal. Brown was tripped and fouled which gave the Frogs a penalty kick.

Becerra scored to send TCU to its first College Cup. It was fifth goal this season and 19th in her career. Geller, who won a state championship with Carroll, made a career high nine saves for the Frogs.

The other national semifinal features Duke and Stanford.
