Arlington Seguin wins late over Red Oak

Chevy Andrews and G’Manii Smith connected for the game-winning touchdown with 38 seconds left in the fourth quarter to lead Arlington Seguin past Red Oak 41-34 on Thursday night.

The Cougars improved to 2-0 while the Hawks fell to 1-1.

Andrews threw for over 200 yards and three touchdowns. Johnaven Polk led all receivers with eight catches for 109 yards and one touchdown. Smith caught two TDs and nearly hit the century mark.

Seguin, which trailed 20-18 at halftime, took a 34-27 lead at the end of the third quarter with touchdowns from Polk and Smith. Red Oak tied it at 34-34 with five minutes left on a 10-yard run from Renard Thomas.

The Cougars will face Burleson in their district opener in Week 3 while the Hawks play Cedar Hill in non-district.
