Sydney Lewis, who shined with the Prosper Eagles, announced her transfer from Maryland to Charlotte. Lewis started all 49 games at first base for Maryland this past season and hit 0.310 with a career high 10 home runs and 38 runs batted in.
However, he Terps went 3-19 in conference and missed the conference tournament.
The former DFW star also had career highs during 2025 in hits and slugging percentage.
She led the Terps in runs batted in during the past two seasons, with 95 in her three-year career.
During her freshman year in 2023, Maryland went 38-19 overall and 11-11 in conference play. That season, Lewis started 24 games and appeared overall. She was 2024 All-Big Ten Second Team as a sophomore and led the team with 41 runs batted in alongside starting all 54 games played and 43 hits.
In three years, Lewis had career numbers that included a 0.275 batting average, 95 RBI, 108 hits, 16 homers, 16 doubles and 26 runs batted in during 158 games and 127 starts.
While at Prosper, Lewis was voted District Offensive MVP in 2019, team Defensive MVP in 2020 and team Offensive MVP in 2021. She was first-team all-district three times and All-Area plus an All-Metroplex All-Star. Lewis left the Eagles with career records for home runs (34), hits (144), RBI (138) and doubles (44).
