Byron Nelson’s Sophee Peterson, who helped Bobcats to a volleyball title, commits to Texas A&M

Byron Nelson 2027 setter Sophee Peterson announced her commitment to Texas A&M. Peterson helped lead the Bobcats to the Class 6A Division 2 state championship last season.

Peterson is among the best players in the nation – named MaxPreps All-American and MaxPreps National Sophomore Of The Year in 2024. She was second in the state last season with 1,477 assists. She posted 42 assists, 13 digs and five kills in the title game against Stratford.

Peterson only committed 10 ball handing errors out of over 3,000 attempts.

In two seasons with Byron Nelson, Peterson has over 2,200 career assists, 585 digs, 53 solo blocks, 89 aces and 326 kills. Peterson was GM Sports Media DFW Setter Of The Year.

The Bobcats went 40-1 overall and 16-0 in District 4-6A.

The state championship was second in program history (2019).

Peterson is the #1 2027 recruit according to PrepVolleyball.
