You think of one name when it comes to Plano West softball – Mike Ledsome, who started up the program 26 years ago.
Through the first three weeks of the season, the Wolves recently gave Ledsome his 500th career victory.
Plano West has wins this season over McKinney Boyd, Kyle Lehman, Elgin, Keller Timber Creek, Plano East and Emory Rains. The Wolves are also 2-1 in District 6-6A.
Last season, the Wolves went 26-15 overall and 8-6 in district while reaching the regional semifinals. Ledsome returned 11 players including three commits in Izzy Dunn (South Dakota State), Kaaya Mehta (MIT) and Abby Jennings (Yale).
The UIL realigned Plano West with Allen, Plano East, McKinney Boyd, Prosper Rock Hill, Prosper, Plano, McKinney and Princeton.
The team will celebrate the milestone on Tuesday before the varsity game. The Wolves play Plano at 7:15 pm.
