Forney entered the season as the #1 Class 6A team by GM Sports Media followed closely by Denton Guyer. Forney moved up to 6A for the first time while Guyer was coming off back-to-back state tournament appearances.

In a tournament showdown between the top two local schools, Forney dispatched Guyer 12-0 on Saturday. The Jackrabbits improved to 9-0-1 this season.

They scored five runs in the first inning and seven runs in the third.

Ryann Harris hit a two-run single and Domiana English added a three-run home run to center field.

In the third, Harris drove in a run, Carlee Rabal walked in another score, Eva Daniels (UNT) hit a double that cleared the bases and Cailey Slade (Bossier Parish CC) capped it with an RBI double.

Sophomore pitcher Emmie Santos allowed four hits, one walk and struck out four batters.

Four players homered against Plano East (8-5) – Slade, English, Daniels and Emma Boren (ETBU). Slade drove in three runs. Daniels hit two homers, Harris added one and Juliana Tamburine had an inside the park home run in Friday’s win over Eaton and Coppell.

Forney went 5-0 last week starting with a 6-3 win over Birdville on Monday 2/17. Santos went 5-0 with two runs allowed and 15 strikeouts in 14 innings pitched. Santos played a big part last season as a freshman and helped the Jackrabbits to the 5A Region 2 final.
