2026 pitcher Izzy Guarriello faced 21 batters and struck out 15 – picking up the 1-0 win over Grapevine on Monday night. She nearly got the perfect game, but Lovejoy committed an error in the fifth.
Guarriello still managed to face the minimum amount of batters.
Additionally, she struck out the side in the first, sixth and seventh innings, and had seven consecutive strikeouts to end the game.
The Leopards only run came in the third. Natalie Pierson got a one-out single and stole second. Sameera Saluja came through with a two-out hit to center field to drive in Pierson.
Grapevine’s Bella MacMahon had a great effort from the circle but picked up the loss – allowing three hits and striking out six batters through five innings.
Guarriello committed to Creighton in the off-season.
