UIL issues suspension on Cedar Hill Trinity Leadership basketball, former Lewisville coaches

On Thursday, the UIL announced suspensions to this season’s boys basketball team at Cedar Hill Trinity Leadership and two former coaches from Lewisville during its State Executive Committee meeting in Austin.

Trinity Leadership coach Adrian Hawkins was issued three years probation, a public reprimand and suspended for the rest of the season following UIL rule violations involving student eligibility. The athletic department also given probation and reprimand, and asked to provide a written plan on process improvements.

Additionally, the boys basketball team must forfeit all games left in the regular season and is suspended from the playoffs this season. According to MaxPreps, Trinity Leadership is 19-14 overall and 9-0 in district.

Former Lewisville boys basketball coaches Mario Martin and Xavious Booker were also issued a three-year suspension from coaching within the UIL, a public reprimand and must appear before the committee before coaching again.

The committee accepted the district executive committee’s decision to place the Lewisville boys basketball team on two years probation and issue a public reprimand.
