This past spring, Melissa made history twice – by winning its first state championship and setting the national record for home runs by one team. One player that was a tremendous help to both accomplishments was third baseman Kennedy Bradley.

The Class of 2026 product put together a great year especially at the plate. On Sunday, she announced her commitment to SEC powerhouse Florida Gators.

“From the time I started this game to now, this has been one of my biggest dreams come true,” Bradley said. “I am beyond excited to call the University of Florida my future home.”

Bradley put in a career year as a sophomore.

She was voted District 13-5A Defensive MVP and hit 20 home runs – third most in DFW along with 72 hits and 64 RBI. Bradley also hit 0.526 overall and was named to the 5A state all-tournament team.

Funny enough, Bradley was third only behind her teammates.

Hutton Adrian led all of DFW with 22 homers while Caigan Crabtree had 21.

Melissa defeated Lake Belton in the 5A semifinals 4-0 and Harlingen South in the championship 8-0. Bradley had two hits in both games and drove in a run in the title match.
