Burleson Centennial’s Paityn Winters surpasses 1,500 career assists

Fresh off a district title season in 2023, Centennial senior Paityn Winters recently surpassed 1,500 career assists while the Spartans were in Pflugerville for the VolleyPfest Tournament. The Spartans finished in fifth place.

Centennial won its first 12 matches of the season and sit with a 14-3 record.

The team also won the Duncanville Tournament during the opening week.

Winters was District 8-5A Co-Setter Of The Year last season as Centennial put together one of its best years in program history. The Spartans won 30 games including 15-1 in district and set several program records.

Winters was also the team MVP, Academic All-District and made the Johnson County all-area team.

The uncommitted 5-9 setter/right side led the team in assists and aces. She finished the fall with 702 assists in 136 sets played, 253 kills, 389 digs and 58 aces. She has been a four-year starter with second-team all-district honors as a sophomore with 642 assists, 162 kills, 270 digs and 37 aces.

As a freshman DS/L, Winters was honorable mention with 221 digs in 98 sets played.

Winters wants to continue her career in college and plays club with 360 Volleyball. She holds a GPA of 4.25.
