Mike Leslie, WFAA open 2024 HS football broadcast with The Battle of 287

For the seventh straight year, you can watch Texas high school football live on WFAA.

The ABC affiliate released its 2024 football schedule, which includes 2023 state champs Duncanville, DeSoto and Aledo. The schedule begins this week with Ennis at Waxahachie in the Battle of 287 on Friday night.

You can watch the games across all of WFAA’s digital platforms, WFAA.com, its YouTube channel, its mobile app and the station’s streaming app.

Aug. 30: Ennis vs Waxahachie

Sept. 6: Duncanville vs SOC

Sept. 13: Denton Guyer vs North Crowley

Sept. 27: Colleyville Heritage vs Argyle

Oct. 4: Denton Ryan vs Aledo

Oct. 11: Duncanville vs DeSoto

Oct. 18: Forney vs Rockwall

Oct. 25: Prosper vs Allen

Week 2 will feature 2022 champs Duncanville and South Oak Cliff. The Bears reached the state champ game last season, but lost to PNG. In Week 3, Guyer will face state semifinalist North Crowley. The rest of the schedule will feature district title contenders, including #1 DeSoto and #2 Duncanville on October 11th.

WFAA sports anchor Mike Leslie and Hek’ma Harrison will once again comprise the Friday Night Football broadcast team. Harrison played linebacker at Lincoln High School, before playing college football at both Kansas State and UNT.
