HIS STATS: 34 points vs Keller ILT
SUMMARY: The Lions posted a 2-0 week with a 65-43 win over Arlington ILT on Feb. 5 and then 68-46 over Keller ILT on Friday during the TCSAAL Regional Championship. Cox, the 6-3 combo guard for Leadership Prep, dropped a game-high 34 points to help the team clinch a spot at the state tournament.

GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Ava Batty
POSITION: Point Guard
SCHOOL: Midlothian Heritage
CLASS: 2025
HER STATS: 24 points vs Joshua
SUMMARY: Batty scored 24 points in a district game against the Owls to help Heritage secure the 2 seed out of 8-5A. The Jaguars ended the district season with a 12-4 record – only behind the top-ranked 5A team in the state Mansfield Timberview. MHHS made an appearance in the playoffs, but its season ended on Monday against Colleyville Heritage. Batty and the Jags posted a 25-11 overall record. Batty finished as the leading scorer on the team.
