Rockwall-Heath run rules Sachse in playoff opener

Rockwall-Heath hit 3 home runs and Alex Pitre tossed a 2-hit shutout as the Hawks beat Sachse 12-0 in 5 innings during Game 1 of their Class 6A D1 bi-district round series on Wednesday night at Sachse.

Heath (20-14) and Sachse (15-16-1) will play Game 2 at Heath on Thursday with first pitch at 6:30 pm.

Piper Moore opened the game with lead-off single to left and scored on a 2-run home run from Taylor Scott in the top of the first inning for the Hawks.

Moore added her own 2-run home run to push the lead to 4-0 in the second. Scott walked and then scored on an RBI grounder from Jazahia Raymond.

The Hawks, who lost to Sachse 1-0 in February, added 4 runs in the top of the fourth inning highlighted by an RBI single from Pitre and RBI double by Anna-Kate Synesael that extended the lead to 9-0.

Pitre, who struck out 7 batters in the circle, homered to center in the fifth to make it 12-0.
