NORTH RICHLAND HILLS – Sisters Peyton and Maura Hayes accounted for all three goals during Southlake Carroll’s 3-0 win over Denton Guyer in the Class 6A Division 2 Region 1 Final on Tuesday night at Birdville Fine Arts Athletic Complex.

The Dragons (26-0-1) advance to the state semifinals for the seventh time in program history and first since winning the 6A championship in 2022.

Carroll will face Forney (27-1), which beat Wylie East 3-1 on Tuesday.

The older Hayes, Peyton, took a pass from Mariana Auns and scored from 20 yards away to give Carroll a 1-0 lead with 59 seconds left in the first half.

The senior midfielder and SMU signee scored her second goal in the 51st minute that gave the Dragons a 3-0 advantage.

Sophomore Maura Hayes gave Carroll a 2-0 lead in the 46th minute. Caroline Holcombe had a perfect pass to Audrey Anderson in the box, but her shot attempt bounced off the hands of Guyer goalkeeper Sophie Strain.

The ball rolled right to Maura Hayes for the easy score in front of the net.

Down goes defending champ Coppell girls
