MANSFIELD – Lanae Dallas made 4 three-pointers in the first quarter on her way to a game-high 17 points as Dallas Lincoln’s defense stymied Brock 46-26 in a Class 4A D2 state semifinal on Tuesday night at Mansfield Legacy HS.

Brock, #3 in the 4A state rankings according to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches, ends the season 31-6 with its first state semifinal appearance since 2018.

Lincoln (28-8), #5, looks to defend its 4A D2 state championship against #11 Fredericksburg (31-8), which beat #6 Bridge City 49-45 on Tuesday night.

The championship game is 7 pm Friday at the Alamodome in San Antonio. Lincoln defeated Cuero 60-32 in last year’s title game.

Jacee Riddle gave Brock an early 5-3 lead with one of the Eagles’ 3 three-pointers in the game. But Lincoln answered when Dallas hit a three that started up a 7-0 run.

The Tigers led 20-11 after the opening period and then their defense took it to another level by holding Brock to three points in each of the second and third quarters. Lincoln led 28-14 at the intermission and 34-17 after three.

Old Dominion signee AJ Elder and Jada Patterson scored eight points apiece for Lincoln. A win on Friday will give the Tigers back-to-back state titles for the first time and their fifth overall.

Laney Hudson led Brock with 12 points.
