Stacy Jennings continued her excellent opening week of the season with back-to-back shutouts on Friday and three straight while at the Mid-Cities Tournament in DFW.
The 2027 Angelo State commit opened the season 2-0 vs Euless Trinity on Monday while allowed just three hits. During Game 2 on Thursday, Richland beat Eagle Mountain 6-0 and Jennings threw a no-hitter with seven strikeouts.
Lauryn Gamez had a pair of RBIs and Kennedy Parry hit an RBI triple in the first inning. BB Bujnowski added an RBI single in the third to give the Royals a 4-0 lead.
The Royals also beat FW Paschal 13-3 on Thursday.
During Friday’s action, Richland beat Little Elm 3-0 and Euless Trinity 4-0. Jennings combined to throw 11 innings in the two games with four hits allowed and 11 strikeouts.
Gamez drove in two of Richland’s three runs against Little Elm.
Against Trinity, Gamez, Alyssa Flores and Callie Flores all had RBI hits.
