S&S 2026 pitcher/hitter Hayden Mowrey officially celebrated her signing day with Wichita State on Thursday. Mowrey was previously committed to the University of North Texas before flipping her commitment during the off-season.
Nicknamed “Bam” – the Rams are coming off one of their best seasons all-time.
The Rams started the season with 22 straight wins and finished 27-3, which included a trip to the state semifinals – the program’s second appearance and first since 2008.
Mowrey was voted District 11-3A MVP.
She wrapped up the season as one of the best “dual-threat pitchers” in the DFW/North Texas area. Mowrey posted a 25-3 pitching record with a 1.08 ERA and 278 strikeouts in 175 2/3 innings. She tossed 17 shutouts, six no-hitters and three perfect games.
From the plate, Mowrey hit 0.533 with a 1.100 slugging percentage, 12 home runs and 53 runs batted in. She hit a grand slam against Boyd in the clincher of the regional final, a game where the Rams won 12-2.
Another highlight came in the semifinal round against state champion Coahoma.
S&S lost in three games, but the Rams did get a win – snapping Coahoma’s 91-game winning streak.
