Madi Doty, one of the best softball players in the country, recently signed her letter of intent with the University of Texas.

In multiple rankings, Doty is the #1 Class of 2026 player in the nation. She primarily pitches for Grandview High School, where is also the Zebras’ top hitter.

The Zebras are coming off their first state championship in program history last season – beating Whitesboro 9-3 in the 3A D1 final. Doty was voted state champ MVP with seven innings pitched, four hits allowed and 11 strikeouts.

Grandview, which finished 34-3, appeared at state for the third straight season. The Zebras lost in the 2023 semifinals and came up second in the 2024 final vs Coahoma.

Doty received all-tournament honors for the third consecutive year. She was voted District MVP, 3A All-State and was selected to the TGCA All-Star Team.

She finished with a 24-1 record and batted over 0.425.

In a story published by Texas Softball, Doty said she picked UT because “when I came to Texas for a camp, and I got to work one-on-one with Coach Mike White…that’s when I realized this is where I wanted to be. As I continued to go to camps, I got to know all the coaches and fell in love with the city of Austin.”

Doty also won two gold medals while playing with USA national teams.
