It was an emotional season for Byron Nelson. The Bobcats were in the third round for just the fourth time in program history – but all coming in the past five seasons.
Byron came into the summer having lost its head coach, Travis Pride who died in May. He was the head coach for the Bobcats the previous nine years. He owned a 128-91 career record with 64 wins coming from Byron Nelson.
The Bobcats opened the season with a 30-7 win over Wolfforth Frenship.
