========================

For only the second time in program history, the Wylie East Raiders are 7-0 after dismantling Garland Naaman Forest 44-15 on Thursday night to begin Week 8.

The Raiders (5-0 in 9-6A) are leading the district standings while the Rangers (3-2) came in tied for second place. With the loss and Rowlett’s win over Gar. Lakeview Centennial on Thursday, the Rangers dropped into a tie for third with Wylie and Sachse. Wylie can jump NF on Friday vs Garland while Sachse has its bye week.

Wylie East also went 7-0 in 2022 when the Raiders won their first nine games. They will close out the last three weeks against Rowlett, Garland and Wylie.

Jaiden McLemore threw for 213 yards and three touchdowns for the Raiders. The star QB hurled 258 yards and three scores in Week 7 against South Garland. McLemore also led all rushers with 57 yards on eight carries and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, McLemore hit three different targets for scores, Amarean Porter (5-70), Amir Porter (5-53) and King Baribe 3-53).

The Raiders scored 27 points in the second quarter and led the Rangers 34-0 at the intermission.

Ja’Ki Robinson led NF with 49 yards rushing and one touchdown. The Rangers look to bounce back against North Garland, Sachse and South Garland.
