===============================

7-5A: Paschal took down Arlington Heights in straight sets to clinch a district title for the second year in a row. The Panthers are 21-16 overall and 10-0 in district while the Yellow Jackets dropped to 17-8 and 7-2. The win also clinched the #1 playoff seed in the D1 bracket for Paschal, which were led by several players including libero Ava Dyer with 20 digs. The Panthers held Heights to 21 and 22 points in the first and second set before gaining quick control of the third. Back to back hitting errors, and an ace by Dyer gave Paschal a 15-5 edge, but the Jackets came back to force a timeout after Macie Connally got a kill and block point. Paschal closed the door and won the set 25-18. Georgia Ostransky (9), Kendall Keith (8), Emerson Gebhardt (6) and Rhyan Llewellyn (6) combined for 29 of the team’s 35 kills. Ellie Raymond produced a double-double with 11 assists and 12 digs. Delilah Andrade had a team-high 15 assists. Last year’s district title for Paschal was the program’s first since 2016. Heights can still clinch a share of district – the Jackets would need to win their final three matches while Paschal drops its final two. Heights is a lock for the #2 seed in D1. Both teams were co-champs in 2024 with Paschal winning a seeding game for the #1 seed.
