Legendary volleyball coach Ping Cao died early Friday after a courageous battle with leukemia. He was 68. Coach Ping was one of the top volleyball coaches in the club scene, leading organizations like TAV, Drive Nation and Skyline.
Most recently, he left TAV in 2021 after 12 years to coach Drive Nation. He led multiple teams to national championships across the country and coached hundreds of Division 1 volleyball players.
Ping played volleyball for China and was an Olympian in 1984.
In a Facebook post on Friday, Skyline stated that Coach Ping’s health “declined significantly in the last few days…Skyline Juniors and the volleyball world lost a legend today. He was an incredible coach and an amazing man. We ask for prayers for his wife and family during this time.”
