For the second time in a week, one of the longest active volleyball district winning streaks in the state came to an end. On Friday Sept. 19, Rockwall-Heath swept Rockwall 3-0 – snapping the Yellowjackets’ 51 game streak.

Rockwall came into the season with the third longest in DFW. On Tuesday Sept. 23, the longest in the area was snapped as South Grand Prairie took down Arlington Martin in five, 25-20, 19-25, 29-31, 25-22, 15-12. Martin had the longest in the metroplex at 96 games in a row.

It’s the Warriors’ first district loss since 2018.

Martin, which has won eight straight district titles, falls to 4-1 in 8-6A. Last season, the Warriors didn’t drop a single set in district action and had gone 26 straight district matches without losing a set.

Gunter now owns the longest active district win streak in DFW at 75 matches.
