Carroll girls soccer coach Matt Colvin captured his 500th career victory during the Dragons’ 7-0 win over Keller Central on March 11. The win also secured SLC a District 4-6A championship as the team finished the regular season 13-1-2 and 19-1-2 overall.
The Dragons’ only loss of the season came 1-0 vs Keller on Jan. 24.
Colvin has all 500 wins with the Carroll girls soccer program after coming on in early 2001. In 24 seasons, Colvin has posted a 500-91-51 record in 642 career matches.
During that stretch, Carroll as won 15 district titles, have reached the state tournament five times with three titles in 2008, 2019 and 2022.
Colvin is only one of six active coaches to hit the 500 win milestone and the only one to also hold three state titles. The 2019 Carroll team went 28-1-2 after beating Austin Lake Travis and Katy Tompkins in the final four. The 2022 team went 22-1-4 with wins over Rockwall and Austin Westlake at the state tournament.
The playoffs will begin on March 20.
