After leading the Red Oak Ovilla volleyball team to its third TAPPS state championship in the fall, junior Brenlin Garlitz announced her commitment to Sam Houston State on Saturday night.
“I am SO excited to announce my verbal commitment to play DI volleyball at Sam Houston State University! I want to thank my parents for their support, my coaches and teammates, and Coaches Brenda and Taylor Grey, and Cash, for giving me this amazing opportunity. Eat ‘Em Up Kats!”
A left-handed setter and opposite side hitter, Garlitz finished the 2024 season among the DFW leaders in total assists with 1,330 – averaging 9.9 per set. She also had 369 digs, 52 total blocks, 105 aces and 159 kills.
In three years with Ovilla, Garlitz has posted career numbers of 400+ kills, 280+ aces, nearly 1,000 digs and over 2,500 assists.
Garlitz also stars in the club scene with TAV.
