Presley Rivers, among the top 2026 softball players in the country, announced her commitment to Michigan State on Saturday. She will enter her third varsity season with LD Bell in the spring.
Rivers, who plays catcher, was originally committed to UT Tyler before de-committing. Just months later, she found a new home with the Spartans.
She put together one of the best freshman seasons in program history and helped Bell to the district title. She was later named the best freshman hitter by GM Sports Media that year. Her great first high school season resulted in district coaches voting her 3-6A MVP.
Rivers continued her stellar run as a sophomore as 3-6A Utility MVP.
In 2024, Rivers finished with a 0.583 batting average, 11 home runs and 37 runs batted in.
“I’m excited to announce that I have committed to continue my education and play softball at Michigan State University. This opportunity means the world to me, and I can’t wait to grow both as an athlete and as a student. A huge Thank you to Coach Sho and her staff for welcoming me to my future home. Thank you to my parents, coaches, and all that have supported me along the way. Here’s to new beginnings as a Spartan!”
