Springtown beats Decatur, hands Eagles second loss in district

Decatur came into October with a 51-game district winning streak and in a matter of a week, the Eagles have lost twice in 7-4A. After the streak was snapped against Krum last Tuesday Oct. 1, they beat Eagle Mountain on Friday.

But the Eagles went into Springtown on Tuesday night and the Porcupines won 25-23, 25-23, 15-25, 25-17. Springtown owns sole possession of first place with a 7-1 record in district. Decatur dropped to 6-2.

Libby Tedder led the Porcupines with 16 kills.

Addy Burtnett added nine kills.

Tedder had a whopping seven aces along with one solo block, four block assists and 16 digs. Bailey Walker and Kallie Conway both put in 15 assists apiece. Conway added 14 digs and Brooklyn Quintanilla had a team-high 22 digs.
