Todd Peterman, who won football titles at DeSoto and Duncanville, is new coach at Lake Worth

After helping Duncanville to back-to-back Class 6A Division 1 state championships, Todd Peterman was named the new head coach and athletic director at Lake Worth on Monday, according to DCTF’s Matt Stepp.

Peterman was with the Panthers the past two seasons as the offensive coordinator. In 30 games, Duncanville went 29-1, including 15-0 in 2022. The Panthers scored 1,394 points during that span for an average of 46.5 points per game. Last season, they scored 769 points and averaged over 51 a game.

Lake Worth went 6-5 last season and lost to China Spring in the first round.

But the Bullfrogs are now on their third coach in three seasons.

Prior to Duncanville, Peterman was the AD and head coach for 5A Brewer. He spent four years with the Bears and posted a 20-21 record and two playoff appearances before resigning in early 2022. Before that – Peterman spent nine seasons with DeSoto and led the Eagles to their first state title in 2016.

Duncanville won the championship game in December, 49-33 over Galena Park North Shore.
