Frisco Reedy grad wins conference and national honors after record breaking week

Ally Ryan had herself quite a week for the Oklahoma Baptist softball team. She batted 0.556 with four home runs, 1.889 slugging percentage and eight RBIs during their three-game sweep over Southwestern Oklahoma State.

She was awarded GAC Player Of The Week on Monday and Louisville Slugger/NFCA D2 National Player Of The Week on Tuesday. She’s the first player in program history to receive the honor.

During their series with SWOSU, Ryan broke the program record for most home runs in a single season in OBU’s D2 era. Ryan has 15 homers this year – breaking the previous mark of 14 set by Dani Davis in 2018.

Ryan was also GAC Player Of The Week on March 18.

This season, Ryan is batting 0.371 with 15 HR, 41 runs batted in, 39 hits, 4 doubles, 27 runs scored, 24 walks, 0.838 slugging and 0.489 OBP. She has started all 40 games. Last season as a freshman, Ryan hit 0.228 with 23 hits, 1 HR and 11 RBIs in 49 games with 43 starts.

OBU is 29-11 overall this year and 21-3 in conference.

Ryan graduated from Reedy in 2022. There she played four years on varsity and was a two-time first team all district selection.
