February 4th, 2020 was the last time the McKinney Boyd girls basketball team last won a district game.
It was a 49-48 win on the road against Allen.
Riding a 45-game district losing streak, the Broncos went on the road to Prosper Rock Hill and came away with a District 5-6A victory – beating the Blue Hawks 60-53. Karah Riley scored a team-high 19 points while Savannah Heihn chipped in 12. Aniyah Johnson added 11 points.
Boyd improved to 1-5 in district and 13-9 overall.
The 13 wins are the most since the 2018-19 season when the team went 13-17. These two seasons are tied for the most wins for Boyd in the past 10 years. The Broncos won 16 games during the 2013-14 season.
Boyd will host Denton Guyer on Friday at 6 pm.
