In our latest installment of GM Sports Media Commitment Of The Week, we turn to Melissa junior softball pitcher Alex Starr, who committed to Michigan State.
“I am extremely excited and blessed to announce my commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Michigan State University! I am excited to go on this journey that God has placed in front of me,” Starr said in a Twitter post. “So blessed to call East Lansing my new home! Go Green!”
Starr, who also plays select ball with Texas Unity, has been a starter for Melissa the past two years. She has posted over 200 strikeouts each the past two seasons.
Starr was voted District 13-5A MVP last season after helping the Cardinals to the regional semifinals.
In their first season in Class 5A, the Cards won the undefeated district championship.
