Kate Hansen, who starred in the metroplex, is transferring to Clemson after one season with Texas Tech.

In 21 matches and 78 sets this season, Hansen posted 75 kills and 99 total blocks. She started in all 21 matches. Hansen’s season high in kills was eight vs Kansas. Her season high for blocks was 11 vs Houston Christian. She was named to the Under Armour Challenge All-Tournament Team early in the season.

Despite not playing in every match, Hansen led Tech in blocks and finished in the Top 3 in the Big 12 with 1.27 blocks per set.

Tech struggled with an 11-19 record and 4-14 in the Big 12.

Meanwhile, Clemson finish the season with a 19-14 record and 8-10 in the ACC.

During her high school career, Hansen was a three-year starter with the Weatherford Kangaroos. She also started her freshman year with the Boyd Yellowjackets. In her senior season with the Roos, Hansen broke the single season record for blocks.

Hansen was also District MVP in her only season with Boyd, District Blocker of the Year with Weatherford and named to all-state teams multiple times.

She also played club ball with TAV and helped the team to the Girls Junior Open National Championship during her 16s year.
